DataSuite Installation – Guide for Windows (PC & VM)

Lesedauer: 1 min

The DataSuite installation process is quick and easy. The setup wizard will guide you through selecting the language, choosing the installation mode (desktop or Windows service), and specifying the installation directory.

Before You Start #

  • Check the system requirements
  • Download the latest DataSuite installer from the official website
  • Ensure you have administrator rights on the PC

DataSuite installation in 5 steps #

1. Launch the Setup #

Run the installation file and select your preferred language.

2. Choose the Installation Mode #

  • Desktop Application: For standard use with a graphical interface
  • Windows Service: Recommended for continuous operation without user login

3. Define the Installation Path #

Choose where to install DataSuite on your system.

4. Install or Update CodeMeter #

  • The installer includes the CodeMeter driver, which is required for license management.
  • Important: DataSuite requires CodeMeter version 7.0 or higher.
  • If an older version is installed, download the latest version from the official CodeMeter website.

5. Configure Autostart #

After installation, you can choose whether DataSuite should start automatically with Windows:

  • For the Windows Service option: Start and stop the service in Windows Services Management.
  • This can be changed later via the Task Manager (Startup).

Additional Installation Notes #

  • For production environments, we recommend installing DataSuite as a Windows Service for higher reliability.
  • Add exceptions for DataSuite and CodeMeter in your firewall or antivirus software to avoid connectivity issues.

How to Activate the License After Installation #

When you first install DataSuite, you can start with the free 30-day trial.
After this period, click “Activate Full Version” and enter the license code you received, or simply connect your USB dongle.
➡ More details can be found in the Licensing Guide.
