DataSuite supports a selection of common databases. To establish a connection to an existing database server, we can simply click on the “Create new database connection” button in the Databases menu item. There we then have the option of selecting one of the supported databases.
Once we have created a connection, we still need to configure it. We need to specify the host IP, port and user data. Once the connection has been established, we can now select a database from our server that we want to use.
If you use an MSSQL database, you can also use named pipes. You also have the option of using Windows authentication instead of an SQL user.
